Writer, researcher, and editor.
He was born in 1966 in the Malêgir (Dövecik) village of Hezo (Kozluk) in Êlih (Batman). He studied at the primary school in the Bölükçayır village of Silvan and attended secondary and high school in Silvan. He got his university degree from the Department of Radio and Television within the Faculty of Communication’s School of Press and Publication at Istanbul University. He wrote columns for the newspapers Silvan, Batman Çağdaş, Batman Postası, and Batman Arayış as well as for the news portal Hürbakış. He is a member of the Batman Journalists and Publishers Association and served as its financial secretary for two terms and vice chairman for two terms. He continues to write columns for the newspaper Batman Çağdaş and the news portal Hürbakış. He is a member of the Human Rights Association, Tüm Bel-Sen (The Union of Municipality Civil Servants), the Batman Journalists and Publishers Association, Bart (The Batman Culture and Art Association), Kurdî-Der (The Kurdish Language Association) and the Kurdish Writers Association. In addition to serving as vice chairman of the Batman Journalists and Publishers Association, he is publishing coordinator for the Batmane Publishing House. Ekinci is married and has six children.
