Samî Hêzil
Writer and translator.
He was born in 1975 in Setmanis, a village in Wan (Van). Samî Hêzil graduated from the Department of English Language and Literature at Van Yüzüncü Yıl University in 1999. Hêzil has been translating poems, novels, short stories, and scientific works from English into Kurdish since 2000. His writings and translations have been published in literary and scientific magazines such as Jiyana Rewşen, Zend, W, and Tabularasa. Currently, he teaches Kurdish literature at Kurdî-Der (The Kurdish Language Association) in Van. He has participated in panel discussions, conferences, and workshops on Kurdish language and literature. He writes short stories and scholarly articles in Kurdish. Hêzil has a daughter and lives in Van.
