Ferzan Şêr
Poet, critic, academic, and translator.
The author, whose real name is Taylan Şahan Tarhan, was born in 1986 in the village of Hezyat (Kapaklı) in the town of Bişêrî (Beşiri). He attended primary school in his village in Beşiri and finished secondary school in Batman. In 2010, he graduated from the Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation at Hacettepe University, after which he attended the Department of Comparative Literature at Istanbul Bilgi University, writing his postgraduate thesis on Body and Potency in Helîm Yûsiv’s Literary World in 2013. He was a member of the editorial boards of the literary magazines Ajda and Zarema. His short stories, critical reviews, and poems have been published in magazines such as W, Çirûsk, Ajda, Tîroj, Zarema and Wêje û Rexne. He continues his doctorate studies in Sociology at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University.
