Born in 1978 in the town of Qilaban (Uludere) in Şirnex (Şırnak), Tahir Taninha graduated from the Department of Primary School Teaching in the Faculty of Education of Dicle University. His short stories have been published in the magazines Çirûsk, W, and Jehr. He is a member of the editorial board of Wêje û Rexne (Literature and Criticism), a magazine of criticism. He is a founding member of the Diyarbakır Reading Club. Tahir Taninha lives in Diyarbakır.
