Sîtav Publishing House was founded in 2013 in Wan (Van). Its primary objective is to print educational and academic materials. It takes great care to maintain its academic and educational foundations in all its activities and exhibits a tendency not to deviate from its academic and educational principles.

One of its primary objectives is to cultivate and protect Kurdish culture, language, art, and literature. Like many other Kurdish publishing houses, Sîtav hopes to be a new link in the preservation of Kurdish language, art, literature, and culture. Though it publishes bilingually in both Turkish and Kurdish, its primary language of publication is Kurdish.

Its major objectives include the publication of academic and children’s books. At the same time, it also publishes literary, culture, artistic and other titles. Additionally, it aspires to collect and print Kurdish folklore as another of its major objectives.

Sîtav places great importance on the education of children and youth. For this reason, manuscripts for children and young adults are reviewed by pedagogues and psychologists before publication. Sîtav does not print books without the approval of specialist pedagogues and psychologists. On the other hand, books for children and youth are prepared in order to encourage education and are compiled with the world of children and young people in mind.

Sîtav Publishing house continues to publish new titles and has already printed 58 works—both original works and translations—that span poetry, short stories, novels, folklore, and books for children and young adults.
